Nowadays, being a parent can be a daunting task. Having to deal with a tight work schedule and a ton of family issues at home doesn't leave too much room for relaxation and a clear mind to think. Especially, if you are of those parents who really care about their children, anxiety, stress and hopelessness are on your daily agenda as you feel you are losing control of your life balance.

Instead of executing your chores robotically and running a marathon all day long, you can organize your life and take time out to keep the home clutter free and reduce parental frustration.
Here are some useful tips that can help you relax and empower yourself in order to raise good natured and disciplined kids:
a) Establish daily routines
Although routines are boring, in your case they can prove a life savior. By establishing routines, you teach your children to be disciplined and you can feel secure that things will go as planned. If your children follow every morning the same routine, it is less likely that you will waste time on useless activities that stress you out in the fear of being late for work. Therefore, create a daily routine schedule and write down any activity on an hourly basis. This will help your children develop consistency and you can enjoy your life becoming more convenient.
b) Learn to say 'NO'
Sometimes, being overwhelmed and tired makes you forget that you have to set limits in your children's suitable behavior. Don't do that. The next time you are out with your children shopping and they start running around in the mall, sit down with them and explain to them that what they do is dangerous. Set rules and limits in anything you consider does not objectively constitute a suitable behavior and stick to these rules.
c) Organize your children's paperwork
Children typically bring a lot of paperwork home, which makes it impossible to store it and it's time-consuming. To save time and eliminate the stress, make sure you keep what is really useful from your children's hard work and throw away the rest. If you don't want to have paper stored at all, you may keep your children's homework electronically by scanning it and storing it in a CD.
d) Designate locations for keeping stuff
Children throw their stuff here and there in the house, especially if they don't know where to store their belongings. Make sure you provide them with shelves for their books, drawers for their clothes, bins for their toys, and hooks for their schoolbags, bathrobes, coats and hats. If there are no designated locations, everything will be in the middle, here and there, and you will be losing valuable time to get things together.
d) Use a key bowl
Every time you have to leave the house, it is extremely frustrating to look for your keys or your cell phone. Set up a bowl for your keys and your children's keys, sunglasses and cell phones close to the door you use most frequently use so that you save both time and energy every time you have to go somewhere. In doing so, you eliminate parental stress.
e) Be supportive
By criticizing your children you make them feel that they cannot be good enough to satisfy you, and as they grow older, this feeling drives them away from building a strong relationship with you. Besides, too much criticism creates unnecessary aggravation and loss of self-confidence that all result in waste of time as you try to convince your children that you do believe in them, after all.
Overall, above tips, or whatever else you come up with, are easy to implement and each one on its own can make your parental life more controllable. You can also include doing many housework chores in one day or cooking in bulk to create time for yourself and your children. No matter what you do, you can make small changes every week so that your children adjust smoothly to the new routines and rules and you can enjoy some piece and harmony in an organized home. It doesn't take too much effort; it just takes devotion and belief in what you're doing.
