Cotton Pads And Pretty Face

You may use cotton pads every day for your skin care and cosmetic beauty. But, most of you may just use cotton pads to soak your toner and apply to your face. If yes, you fail to maximize the function power of your cotton pads. Let us understand how we can use cotton pads differently.

First, before you can use your cotton pads, you have to buy ones. When you walk into the drugstore, you may find two types of cotton pads, one is made of cotton and the other is made of non-woven fabric. Both of them are good, but you need to know which one to use for different purpose. The cotton ones are usually thicker and therefore less absorbent. If you use the cotton pads for applying toner, you can choose the non-woven ones. Otherwise, you may need to dispense larger amount of toner every time. The thicker cotton pads on the other hand are good choice to cleanse cuticle or act as cotton masks.

Soft cotton pads are not always the best. You should choose those that are made of natural materials. So that there will be no fiber left on your face and the pores will not be clogged.

When you apply toner every day, you can use cotton pads to help. A famous Japanese cosmetic brand, Shiseido has researched that around 1.5 to 2 ml of toner should be poured onto the cotton pads every time. The method of applying toner to eye areas and other facial areas is different. As eye area skin is very delicate and sensitive, you should not wipe the toner with a strong force. Just press and hold the cotton onto the areas for a few seconds. For cheek and jawbone areas, you can find most of the cuticle there. You can use a stronger force to wipe the toner onto your face.

Cotton pads are always used with lotion as well. Apply lotion with cotton pads helps you reach all the hard-to-reach areas like around your nose. Take some lotion with your cotton pads and press onto your cheek area. This pressing really helps press the lotion into your skin. For eye area, you are advised to use cotton pads around 5mm thick. Add a few drops of water and eye lotion to the cotton pads. The water helps the eye lotion effuse out.

If you have blackhead, cotton pads may also help. First, to deal with blackhead, you should try to avoid squeeze them out from the pores. Soak the cotton pads with toner. Place the toner onto T zone and wait for several minutes. The toner helps soften the blackhead. Then you can clean the blackhead with a wiping action.

As most of the cotton pads are with 5mm thick. You can use them for your facial treatment. Soak the cotton pads with toner or other moisturizer. Then tear one cotton pad into 5 to 6 pieces and you can apply them to different parts of your face.

Tips On Waxing And Facial Hair Removal For Women

Women and facial hair do not go together and facial shaving is something that should be left to men. Some where there should be a rule that only men have hair on their faces, but the truth is that this is just wishful thinking. Women do have facial hair and sometimes this can be a problem for them.

Not all facial hair looks unsightly. Take your eyebrows for example; they not only serve a purpose (protection and shading) but can sometimes do with a little help in the form of eyebrow shaping.

In general terms you should always be careful with the method you choose and the process and this is even more pertinent when relating to the face - if anything goes wrong, perhaps a reaction to a cream, it will be highly noticeable. As you may know there are a variety of methods you can choose and in the case of small amounts of hairs or even for eyebrows, plucking is a well tried method that provides excellent results. You just stretch the skin, grab the hair with a pair of tweezers and pull against the direction of hair growth.

You can also shave, but that is perhaps not the best idea - a five o'clock shadow is not really an option.

Now we have canceled shaving as an alternative and seen the limitations of plucking, the question is what other methods can you use. Well there are the longer term options - electrolysis and laser hair removal. Both of these are being used with great results but it does cost much more and sessions are often repeated and take time.

Waxing is used by many women world wide and that popularity shows it is effective.

Tips for Facial Waxing:

1. The skin around your face is sensitive skin so the first tip would be to practice waxing over another area, perhaps your legs. Practice makes perfect so when you get around to your face your expertise will be a bonus.

2. Apply wax very thinly and over small areas. Prior to this test the heat in a very small area, just in case.

3. Spread the skin tightly as this allows the hair to stand out

4. For better results, be it on the face or elsewhere, you should pull off the wax in one smooth motion and running it against the direction in which the hair comes out.

5. Sometimes you will find that not all hairs were removed. instead of re waxing, simply pluck them out - unless the whole process was a complete flop and lots of hairs remain. If this is the case, wait a while and repeat the process allowing the wax to settle and harden.

For Eyebrows:

- Always be careful so safety is a must. The most important thing is to avoid getting any wax on the eye (this includes eyeball, eyelashes or eyelids).
You do not have a lot of room around the eyebrows so apply steadily and wax thinly.

For the Upper Lip:

- Spread the waxing into two different stages, one for each side. The rest is the same as for the eyebrows.

Hair regrowth will be from three days onwards and with continued application, as the hair follicle will weaken, the periods between waxing will be longer.
